Masterplan Campo Pequeno
1998 – 2000 | Lisbon
DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL INFO
This project aimed to make an urban development of two plots of land located next to Campo Pequeno in Lisboa, treated as two parts with distinct functions: both are located in the administrative area of São João de Deus, the urban part of transition between Avenida da República and Avenida de Roma, structural axes of the Plans of Avenidas Novas and Alvalade, respectively , located in a very central area of the city with excellent access and benefiting from a full-service public transport and equipment.
The subdivision proposed re-arrangment of the two parcels into three lots – Lot 1 , Lot 2 and Lot 3 – an area for public domain – to create a green space for collective use or deployment of any equipment – and extension and/or creation of public traffic routes, parking and adjacent walking areas. This set works as the local urban design completion, integrating the design of the block and keeping the morphological continuity of streets, intending to become a solution of urban occupation that matches the morphological characteristics of the orthogonal grid where it belongs.
Lots 1 and 2 incorporate and terminate the block that is formed by the pre-existing buildings facing the street Rua Entrecampos/Campo Pequeno, constituted by Housing, and Commercial, this last use at ground floor level. The Lot 3 will incorporate and terminate one second block, formed by the pre-existing buildings facing the streets João Villaret and David Sousa and Avenida Sacadura Cabral, which will be transformed entirely into a hotel.
