Pools and Rooms Activities Carcavelos XXI

The oxygen on the form of air bubbles in a volume of water that decrease as the particles approach and the surface plane, is the key image for our Equipment. We intend that the building is identified with Water and Oxygen. This aspect is contrasted with the rigidity of the cubic form which gives us some sense of monumentality and grandiosity of the building for its function: The white concrete building is so torn by round glasses of various dimensions that make reference to air bubbles that rise to the water surface.

The project follows a structural modeling of axes with a view to streamlining and functional optimization. The location of the vertical elements coincides with the intersection of the structural axes, which allows us to define a grid from which it is possible to set the parking and the modeling of the upper floors. On the 1st floor some vertical elements are eliminated in strategic locations, which potentiate a less rigid modeling and therefore a complete flexibility in accommodating the program, as it allows a solution for the organization of spaces without any restrictions.

At floor level -1, we have 41 car parking spaces, load and unloading and storage areas that are intended to support the maintenance of this equipment. There is also the space under the Pool and pier area designated for technical zone – maintenance of the entire building. At the ground level on the east side, develops the lobby, space of arrival and accommodation of users that allows the distribution of access to various spaces: Reception, Bar with view to the pool area, Showers/Changing rooms for Public and Staff. In floor level 1, we have two activity rooms that can be linked together according to the programmatic needs, and a bigger room for Cardio-fitness. All these spaces have visual relationship with the pool area that is located on the lower floor.
