Family House Parede

“The population grew: our grandparents bought acres, our parents, hectares, we got meters and our grandchildren, square centimeters”.

This proposal aims to build a single-family house that will fit into a meager lot oriented East-West, whose challenge is to adapt the housing program to the legislation and the PDM in force.

Coming from Rua Brito Pais, the only access to the house is on foot at an elevation of 40.80m, where a regulatory ramp begins at an elevation of 40.95m inside the lot. These values ​​arise from the need to bring the ground floor as close as possible to the natural profile of the land and significantly reduce the difference in elevation between the limits of the East and West slopes. If the entrance were made further south of the Lot, the altimetric differences and the need to design a longer ramp would be incompatible with the small dimensions of the lot.

Based on the urban parameters defined in the PDM and the established program, a contemporary design was created capable of respecting the defined rules, while seeking to establish a simple and easy-to-relation image with the place, simultaneously responding to the current demands for comfort and habitability .

The proposal starts from the study of the built front and the different altimetric relationships with the adjoining buildings, whose values ​​led to the choice of building with a generous ceiling height, so that the street silhouette was developed gradually and rhythmically.

In order to maintain a simple and sober language, without ignoring the relationship with the building existing in the surroundings, this will be an architecture that will mimic one of the most determining characteristics of the street front: the color.
