Super Hatch in Lisbon Square
1ST PLACE
2013 | Lisbon
DESCRIPTION
TECHNICAL INFO
SUPERHATCH was a project developed by PKMN and curated by Ariadna Cantis inside the third Lisbon Architecture Triennale as associated project of Close, Closer.
SUPERHATCH proposed an Analogical Re-Interpretation in real scale of a digital graphic tool: Cad Hatch Patterns. Hatch Patterns with no scale, are used to represent the real materials that are used on public space design in cities. The re-interpretation process consisted on the physical drawing with plastic tape of some of these hatch patterns superimposed to surface of a square in Lisbon: Praça “Igreja de São Domingos”.
RELEASE
A point of attraction in the middle of the square is our proposal. Aligned to the entrance of St. Domingos Church, it comes as a reminder of the fire that consumed its interior. The pigeon is a symbol of the release from the past and an invitation to the peaceful and amazing interior space, with so many secrets to tell, where the architecture is the construction and the destruction.
